Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has shut down speculation linking him with a move to the Saudi Pro League, insisting he remains happy at Old Trafford.
Reports had claimed that Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr were prepared to offer the Portugal midfielder an eye-watering £700,000-a-week deal to tempt him away from the Premier League giants.
However, speaking ahead of Portugal’s World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, Fernandes dismissed the rumours as baseless.
“That is an impossible scenario to imagine. I have no idea if there is any truth to it,” Fernandes told reporters.
“I don’t know if I will play for Portugal tomorrow, much less if I will play outside of Manchester in a year. It’s not something that worries me. I’m happy where I am; otherwise, I would not have stayed.”
The 31-year-old, now in his sixth full season with Manchester United, has been a consistent performer since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2020, and remains one of the club’s most influential figures.
