At least ten people have been killed in a truck and taxi collision in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Several others have been severely injured in the crash.
It is understood that the accident occurred on the R102, near Lotus Park, south of Durban, on Thursday morning.
Horrific crash
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said they are on the scene of the “horrific crash.”
“ALS Paramedics are currently on the scene of a horrific crash where multiple fatalities have been reported on the R102 near Lotus Park, just off the M35 south of Durban. Additional ambulances, as well as last support paramedics on mobile, were available to assist.
“We advise members to avoid this area at all costs. It’s quite a gruesome scene, and with multiple fatalities, it is going to be quite a long time before the scene will be active. It’s believed that approximately eight people have been killed in this horrific crash,” Jamieson said.
