Popular Nigerian comedian, Bovi, has revealed why he no longer works closely with fellow comedy star, Basketmouth.
The two entertainers, once known for their stage collaborations, have been the subject of speculation after fans noticed their professional paths diverging in recent years.
In a viral social media interview, Bovi explained that his decision stemmed from a desire for financial independence and personal growth.
“Basketmouth and I are cool. Nothing happened. Interests changed. I wanted to focus more on my family and also elevate myself,” Bovi said.
According to him, constantly splitting income from joint projects no longer made sense when he had the capacity to headline shows on his own.
“When I host shows at Eko Hotels, it fills up. So, why should I go and share money? Why should we be many doing one show?” he asked.
Bovi added that he often seeks new challenges and gets bored repeating the same ventures for too long, which pushed him to return to television and build his individual brand.
The comedian emphasized that despite the shift, there is no rift between him and Basketmouth, only a change in professional interests.
