Christian Edeh Michael, professionally known as Boombeatz, has unveiled his latest album, Grandeza, Spanish for “greatness”, highlighting his artistry and musical versatility.
The Ebonyi-born, Lagos-raised producer, songwriter, and sound engineer hosted a listening party attended by prominent figures in the music industry to celebrate the album’s release.
Grandeza follows Boombeatz’s previous projects: This Is Boombeatz (2019), More Life (2022), the Zeal EP (2023), and Sugar Mummy (2024). His collaborations on tracks like Akanchawa featuring Rex and Dr Spicey, alongside work with Jaywon, Seriki, Dbanj, and Timaya, have cemented his reputation as a versatile and respected musician.
The new album showcases Boombeatz’s signature blend of Afrobeats, Afro-pop, and electronic sounds, featuring tracks like All Blessings, Rockstar, Dem Dey Hate ft. Magnito, Money, Osusu, Chinasa, Mummy, Ocean ft. Dr Spice, and Nobody. Notably, Je Viens d’Afrique (“I come from Africa”) targets French-speaking audiences, reflecting his ambition to expand his influence across Europe.
Grandeza also marks Boombeatz’s first project under a two-year management deal with CBC Marketing and Management Company, a Norwegian outfit he connected with during his recent European tour. According to his team, the album consolidates his growing international presence while staying rooted in African rhythms and contemporary sounds.
With Grandeza, Boombeatz continues to assert himself as a dynamic force in African music, merging cultural authenticity with global appeal.
