Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bolaji Ogunmola has criticised an airline after a series of flight disruptions left her stranded at the Ekiti State airport for more than 24 hours, causing her to miss the first day of her ₦20 million film production.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Ogunmola detailed how repeated delays, cancellations, and schedule changes prevented her from reaching Lagos, where her production crew and actors were already on set.
According to the filmmaker, she arrived at the airport on Wednesday for a scheduled flight but was initially informed of a delay. After waiting for several hours, the airline eventually cancelled the flight without providing a clear alternative, forcing her to spend the night in a motel.
She said she returned to the airport early Thursday morning after being told a new flight would depart at 8:00am. However, the departure time was repeatedly pushed back—from 9:30am to 12:00pm, and later to 5:30pm—leaving her unable to make it to her set.
Ogunmola explained that the disruption had serious financial and professional consequences, as production had already commenced in her absence. She said arrangements for locations, cast, and crew were already in place, adding that the delay affected not just her schedule but the livelihoods of everyone involved in the project.
The actress also expressed frustration over what she described as poor communication from the airline, saying repeated apologies were offered without any concrete solutions.
With no certainty around flight schedules, Ogunmola said she made the difficult decision to travel by road to Lagos, despite safety concerns, in order to resume work on the film.
She further revealed plans to pursue legal action, stressing that her video was not intended to stir controversy but to document events as evidence.
Ogunmola added that the experience highlighted broader concerns around reliability and accountability in air travel, particularly for professionals whose work depends on strict schedules.
As of the time of the video, the airline involved had not publicly responded to her claims.
