Nollywood actress Bisola Badmus has publicly supported her colleague Biola Bayo following intense criticism that trailed Biola’s recent interview with actor Baba Ijesha.
Badmus shared a video clip of herself and Biola on a movie set, using the moment to commend Biola’s character and resilience. In her message, she encouraged the actress and show host to remain composed despite the ongoing online reactions.
According to Badmus, Biola’s kindness and strength distinguish her, adding that the situation would eventually settle. She advised her colleague to stay calm while addressing the backlash.
The controversy began after Baba Ijesha appeared in an interview with Biola Bayo, during which he spoke about the rape allegations previously made against him and discussed his relationship with actress Iyabo Ojo. His remarks quickly sparked criticism on social media, with many users directing their anger at both the actor and the interview host.
As reactions intensified, Biola Bayo removed the interview video from her YouTube and Instagram platforms.
She later released a video statement apologising for the situation. In the message, Biola expressed regret over the outcome of the interview and stressed that she does not support, and will never support, rape.
The actress also extended an apology to Iyabo Ojo and members of the public, clarifying her stance on the sensitive issue. The development continues to generate discussions across social media platforms, reflecting ongoing public interest in the matter.
