Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has raised concerns over an alleged copyright claim placed on a song from her YouTube film, Where Love Lives, a move that reportedly led to the demonetisation of the movie.
Ademoye disclosed that an individual allegedly claimed ownership of a song featured in the film and proceeded to upload it on streaming platforms such as Spotify, presenting himself as the original composer. The action, she said, resulted in her being blocked from earning revenue from her own work.
Where Love Lives, which was released in December 2025, has recorded significant success online, amassing more than 18 million views on YouTube as of the time of reporting.
Taking to Instagram, the actress expressed frustration over the development and issued a public ultimatum, calling on the individual, identified as Emmanuel Davies, also referred to as “Lagos Sound”, to remove the copyright claim within a short timeframe.
In her post, Ademoye maintained that she holds full rights to the song in question and described the situation as an attempt to take credit for her intellectual property. She warned that failure to resolve the issue promptly would lead to further action.
The incident has sparked conversations online about copyright abuse, intellectual property protection, and the challenges creators face on digital platforms.
