Nigerian singer Bigiano has claimed that he wrote the hook for Davido’s breakout hit Dami Duro, one of Afrobeats’ most celebrated tracks.
In a recent interview with content creator Akin Abolade, the Shayo crooner revealed, “I wrote Dami Duro for Davido. I wrote the hook.”
The 2011 release of Dami Duro played a pivotal role in launching Davido’s career and has since been listed among the “greatest Afrobeats songs of all time” by fans and critics alike.
Bigiano also opened up about his absence from the music scene, explaining that he took a deliberate break to prepare for a strong comeback. “Sometimes, you have to take a break to be able to come back again. I went on a sabbatical to make my return to music massive,” he said.
He reassured fans that the hiatus has not affected his financial stability. “I can’t be broke,” Bigiano added.
Despite his claims, Bigiano is not officially credited as a co-writer of Dami Duro, and Davido has yet to respond to the singer’s statement.
The revelation has sparked discussions online, with fans debating the songwriting credits and eagerly anticipating Bigiano’s planned return to the music industry.
