Former Big Brother Naija housemate Rooboy has shared how his time on the popular reality show reshaped his understanding of fame and public responsibility.
In a recent interview, the reality TV personality explained that the experience helped him realise that while fame can open doors, long-term relevance depends largely on character and consistency.
According to Rooboy, life after the show has made him more mindful about the relationships he builds and the people he keeps around him.
He said he now prioritises genuine connections over the attention that often comes with public recognition, noting that he prefers to surround himself with people who encourage his growth beyond the spotlight.
Rooboy also revealed that his future plans in the entertainment industry extend beyond his current work as a hypeman. He expressed interest in exploring acting and hopes to feature in movies as a new avenue to showcase his creativity.
Beyond entertainment, the reality star said he is also interested in the political space, explaining that he believes public influence should be used to drive positive change in society.
Reflecting on his early journey, Rooboy recalled the struggles he faced before gaining recognition. He described himself as a determined young dreamer whose ambition pushed him from New Garage in Ibadan to Lagos in search of opportunities.
He explained that moving between shows and struggling to secure opportunities at the start of his career tested his determination. According to him, those challenges helped shape his character and strengthened his belief in authenticity and purpose.
Rooboy added that even before gaining recognition, he naturally possessed an energy that uplifted people around him. Over time, he said that quality evolved into the personality and brand now known to fans as Rooboy.
