Besiktas have announced that Wilfred Ndidi picked up a thigh injury while representing Nigeria in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old midfielder was forced off in the 72nd minute and replaced by Crystal Palace’s new signing, Christantus Uche.
As a result, Ndidi is set to miss Besiktas’ Turkish Super Lig fixture against Istanbul Başakşehir on Saturday.
The former Leicester City star only joined the Black Eagles last month and has since featured in two league matches under head coach Sergen Yalçın.
