Turkish Super Lig side Beşiktaş have named Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as their new vice-captain.
The club confirmed the appointment in an official statement released on Friday.
Team captaincy will now be held by Orkun Kökçü, who joined the Istanbul giants earlier this year.
Ndidi, 28, joined Beşiktaş in the summer transfer window from Leicester City in England’s Championship and has since made six league appearances for the Black Eagles.
Beşiktaş are scheduled to face Gençlerbirliği in a Turkish Super Lig clash on Saturday.
