The Benue State House of Assembly has granted Governor Hyacinth Alia approval to appoint 10 additional special advisers to bolster his administration.
The approval came on Thursday during plenary in Makurdi after the Speaker, Alfred Emberga, read the governor’s correspondence to lawmakers.
In his request, Governor Alia explained that the additional advisers would provide strategic support in critical sectors and help drive community development initiatives across the state.
After reading the letter, the Speaker put the matter to a voice vote. Lawmakers unanimously endorsed the request, paving the way for the governor to proceed with the appointments.
Ruling on the decision, Emberga declared:
“The request is hereby granted. The governor may go ahead and appoint the 10 additional special advisers.”
The move is expected to further strengthen Alia’s administration and enhance governance delivery in the state.
