Gulu town was buzzing with excitement on Saturday night as Bell ObaFest rolled out its first regional pre-festival celebration in true northern style.
The much-anticipated event lit up Kweyo Village Shoppers, drawing hundreds of fun-loving revellers who came together to toast to food, music, and the unmistakable taste of Bell beer.
At the heart of the night’s excitement were Bell Lager’s newest flavour sensations Bell Citrus and Bell Honey which gave Gulu a refreshing new twist to beer enjoyment. The two variants stole the show with irresistible offers and a vibe that had everyone in high spirits.
The energy kicked into full gear when DJs; Drey, Imos, and Frisco took turns on the decks, serving up non-stop mixes that had the crowd moving from start to finish. The atmosphere turned electric as local stars Eddy Wizzy and Free Boy delivered thrilling performances, paving the way for the much-awaited appearance of Kapeke, the “Kaba” hitmaker.

His set, though brief, sent fans into a frenzy as they sang along word-for-word to his chart-toppers Akasanyalaze, Kaba, Shuu, and Swiririri. Speaking at the event, Lillian Kansiime, Bell Lager brand manager, described the new flavoured beers as “a movement that’s redefining creativity, flavour, and enjoyment within the beer world.”
She added that Bell ObaFest 2025 is about celebrating individuality “flavour for your flavour.” As the night wore on, DJ Baby Love kept the tempo alive with an electrifying set that sealed the evening on a high note.
Under the cool northern skies, it was clear that Bell had once again brought people together proving that great music, great flavour, and great company are the perfect recipe for unforgettable nights.
With Gulu setting the pace, all eyes now turn to Arua on October 25, where the next ObaFest activation promises to be even bigger. The celebrations will then climax in Kampala on November 15, when the third edition of the country’s most vibrant beer festival returns this time with a bold new twist inspired by Bell Citrus and Bell Honey.
