Reality TV star Chizzy Francis has come to the defense of fellow Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing her involved in a violent altercation at an Abuja hotel.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Chizzy appealed to social media users to stop attacking Phyna, stressing that she is human and deserves compassion, especially as she continues to grieve the death of her sister.
“Defending PHYNA isn’t optional. She’s human, she’s grieving, and she deserves respect. Bullying her online won’t make you stronger, it’ll just show how weak you are. Choose kindness, or choose to be ignored,” he wrote.
Acknowledging that Phyna is not beyond criticism, Chizzy cautioned that public shaming or online harassment serves no purpose.
“To everyone jumping to conclusions and criticizing PHYNA, let’s take a step back. We’ve all been through tough times, and we don’t know what someone’s dealing with behind closed doors. She just lost her sister, and the last thing she needs is hate,” he added.
His remarks come amid heightened discussions on social media following the viral clip, with many Nigerians divided over Phyna’s recent controversies.
Chizzy’s message of empathy has since drawn praise from fans who agree that compassion should take precedence over cancel culture, particularly when individuals are navigating personal loss.
