Fresh off her victory as the Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has shared her dream of collaborating with celebrated Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele, a woman she describes as her “number one mentor.”
Speaking with journalists in Lagos after receiving her ₦150 million prize package, comprising ₦80 million in cash and a brand-new SUV, Imisi said her time in the Big Brother house rekindled her passion for acting.
“I think people saw a lot of my acting side while I was in the house. Even my fellow housemates said I’m a natural actress. I’m ready to do more,” she said.
The 23-year-old, who became a fan favourite for her expressive personality and creativity, added:
“Funke Akindele is my number one mentor. I really hope to work with her one day. I also admire Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola, they inspire me a lot.”
Describing her win as “overwhelming,” Imisi said she is still coming to terms with the love and support she’s received from fans across Nigeria.
Addressing claims that ethnic support may have influenced her victory, she responded with honesty:
“Maybe. Yoruba people are very supportive of their own, so that might’ve played a role. But honestly, I believe people connected with my realness and vulnerability.”
The Oyo State-born actress also expressed gratitude to her Celestial Church community for their prayers during her time in the BBNaija house, noting that she intends to channel her newfound fame into a purposeful career in entertainment.
“Fame is new to me, but I’m ready to learn and grow. I’ll seek mentorship and be intentional about my next steps,” she added.
With her sights set on Nollywood, Imisi’s post-BBNaija journey appears poised for a promising start, one fueled by ambition, humility, and a passion for storytelling.
