Baldwin Bazuaye has assumed duties as the interim technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Bendel Insurance, following the suspension of the club’s head coach, Greg Ikhenoba.
Ikhenoba’s suspension by the Edo State Sports Commission on Monday comes amid the team’s disappointing start to the 2025/26 NPFL season.
Addressing the players before Tuesday’s training session, Bazuaye urged them to take greater responsibility and show renewed determination on the pitch.
“I am in the saddle here for a temporary time and to help manage the situation pending when the issues that led to the suspension of your head coach are resolved,” Bazuaye said.
Bendel Insurance, nicknamed the Benin Arsenals, have managed just one win from seven league matches this season. They will travel to face Ikorodu City in their next fixture this weekend.
