Bayelsa United technical adviser, Meremu Okpara, has said his team fully deserved their hard-fought 2–1 victory over Plateau United in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League clash at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
Emo James was the hero of the day, scoring twice for the Prosperity Boys, while Gideon Monday netted Plateau United’s only goal.
Speaking after the match, Okpara praised his players for their resilience and determination, noting that their performance reflected the work put in during training.
“The game was tough as expected, but I think we gave everything for the victory,” Okpara said in his post-match interview.
“Bayelsa United deserved the win because we gave 100 percent.”
The result lifts Bayelsa United further up the NPFL table as they continue their push for consistency in the ongoing campaign.
