Fulham centre-back Calvin Bassey has openly ranked Victor Osimhen ahead of Erling Haaland, insisting the Galatasaray striker is the more difficult forward to face.
Bassey, who plays alongside Osimhen at international level for the Super Eagles, spoke in glowing terms about the former Napoli striker, highlighting his quality, mentality and influence both at club and national level.
Speaking via Habersarikirmizi, Bassey said:
“Osimhen is better than Haaland, so he’s more difficult. Sorry Haaland,”
He went further to praise the Nigerian forward’s achievements and clinical edge in front of goal, adding:
“Osimhen is incredible. What he has done for his country, what he has achieved in the Champions League, it’s truly incredible. He’s a lethal striker.
“I was happy and sad at the same time that he didn’t come to the Premier League. I think it would have been good for him. But yes, I’m glad I didn’t have to play against him.
“But he’s at a very big club now and he’s doing great things, he’s doing incredible things,” he said.
Osimhen currently plays for Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he continues to impress with his goalscoring form and leadership, while Haaland remains Manchester City’s main attacking weapon in the Premier League.
