Nollywood actress Bamike Adenibuyan, better known as BamBam, and her husband, singer Teddy A, have joined the ongoing campaign against cervical cancer.
In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, the couple called for greater awareness, early screening, and protection against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a major cause of cervical cancer.
Speaking as parents of two young daughters, BamBam and Teddy A said the issue was deeply personal to them, adding that they dream of a future where their girls and other young women can grow up healthy, empowered, and free from preventable diseases.
“Every two minutes, a woman somewhere loses her life to cervical cancer,” BamBam wrote in her caption. “Here at home in Nigeria, too many of those stories are our mothers, sisters, aunties, and friends.”
She explained that HPV is widespread and often shows no symptoms, but that awareness, early detection, and vaccination can drastically reduce the risk of the disease.
“This conversation isn’t just for hospitals or campaigns. It starts in our homes, with love, courage, and information. Let’s talk and take action. Let’s protect each other. Awareness saves lives,” she added.
The couple’s advocacy video has since sparked widespread applause from fans and health advocates who praised them for using their platform to promote life-saving awareness.
