Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has confirmed that she now resides in New York City as part of her push to strengthen her global footprint.
The 23-year-old artiste, who moved less than two months ago, said the transition has been seamless because the city mirrors many aspects of Lagos, where she grew up.
In a recent video interview, Starr explained that New York’s pace, cultural rhythm, and diverse African community have made settling in easier. She noted that the strong Nigerian presence in the city provides a sense of familiarity.
“New York reminds me so much of Lagos. It feels like home. There are a lot of Nigerians here, a huge African diaspora,” she said.
Ayra Starr, signed to Mavin Records, has continued to rise on the global stage, earning recognition at major award platforms and expanding her audience across continents. Her move to New York marks another step in her international journey.
