An autopsy has ruled out any involvement of Ifayomi Oba Edu Jogbodo Orunmila in the death of 22-year-old Afrofuji singer Destiny Boy.
The findings were confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the young artist’s death, which had sparked widespread concern.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, the post-mortem examination was carried out by a consultant anatomic pathologist.
Results from the autopsy revealed the presence of high levels of tramadol, along with its metabolites and methamphetamine, in the deceased’s system.
Authorities stated that the cause of death was aspiration pneumonitis triggered by the ingestion of these toxic substances. The report also confirmed January 17, 2026, as the official date of death.
The outcome of the investigation effectively clears the initially suspected individual of any wrongdoing in the case.
Destiny Boy, born Afeez Adesina, gained popularity in 2019 after his Fuji-inspired rendition of If by Davido went viral. He went on to build a growing fan base with tracks such as “Lamba,” “One Transaction,” “Gbese,” “Billion Dollar,” “Mio Gbonkankan,” and “Lowkey.”
His sudden death earlier this year prompted calls for clarity, with fans and industry observers seeking answers about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The late singer is survived by his partner, Iremide, and their child, born in November 2024.
