Atletico Madrid have filed an official complaint to UEFA after being left without hot water at the Emirates Stadium following their training session ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Arsenal.
According to Marca, the LaLiga side trained in London under rainy conditions but were unable to shower afterward due to the lack of hot water in the dressing rooms.
Reports indicate that Diego Simeone’s men notified Arsenal’s staff of the issue shortly after their arrival at around 5:30 p.m., but the problem was not fixed before the end of the session.
The Spanish club reportedly expressed shock that such a modern stadium could experience a basic facilities failure — especially during a major UEFA competition.
As a result, players and staff were forced to return to their hotel to shower and prepare for the match.
Atletico have since lodged a formal protest with UEFA, describing the situation as “unacceptable” for a venue of Arsenal’s stature and reputation.
