Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Nigerian chef Hilda Baci following her latest recognition from Guinness World Records.
On Monday, Guinness officially certified Hilda for preparing the world’s largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, a dish weighing 8,780 kilograms, during a record-breaking cookout at Eko Hotel, Lagos, last Friday.
In a post shared on his official X handle, Atiku praised both Hilda and her sponsor, Gino, for showcasing Nigerian talent on a global stage.
“Congratulations to Hilda Baci and Gino for setting a new world record with the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. It is yet another reminder that our people can break records, set standards, and inspire the world,” he wrote.
Atiku went further to commend Nigerians across the globe whose achievements in diverse industries continue to position the country as a hub of creativity and innovation.
For Hilda, the milestone marks another chapter in a growing legacy. In 2023, she earned global attention after setting a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. With this latest recognition, she cements her status as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated culinary figures.
Her feat has sparked fresh pride among Nigerians, many of whom regard jollof rice as a cultural symbol and a unifying delicacy.
