Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has insisted that Ademola Lookman must demonstrate full commitment before being welcomed back into the team.
The Nigeria international attempted to force a summer move to Serie A rivals Inter Milan, skipping training for two weeks. Since then, the 27-year-old has struggled to reintegrate, with reports suggesting his attitude in training has fallen short of expectations.
Head coach Ivan Juric recently stated he would not beg the winger to play for the club.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Percassi acknowledged Lookman’s quality but stressed the need for professionalism.
“You cannot go back and change the past, so we will focus on the present and future. We all know how good Ademola is, but in order to play for Atalanta, you must be 100 per cent focused. When he feels ready to do that, we are waiting for him with open arms.”
