The Gunners, who had not conceded in their opening two matches, dominated the first half but failed to break through despite their superior possession.
After the break, Gabriel Magalhães opened the scoring with a header from Declan Rice’s free-kick. Gabriel Martinelli doubled the lead before Viktor Gyökeres netted twice to seal the win and end his personal goal drought.
Elsewhere in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain demolished Bayer Leverkusen 7–2, Newcastle United outclassed Benfica 3–0, Manchester City triumphed 2–0 at Villarreal, and Inter Milan thrashed Union Saint-Gilloise 4–0. Earlier in the day, Barcelona put on a scoring masterclass, defeating Olympiacos 6–0, with Fermín López bagging a hat-trick.
