Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare is expected to spearhead Nigeria’s frontline in tonight’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
The Super Eagles will be without star forward Victor Osimhen, who sustained an ankle injury in the 1-0 win over Rwanda last Saturday and has since returned to Galatasaray for treatment.
Arokodare grabbed the winner against the Amavubi and was named Player of the Match for his lively performance. With two goals in five international appearances, the 24-year-old is now tipped to carry the Super Eagles’ attacking threat.
Head coach Eric Chelle will be banking on Arokodare to deliver the goals as Nigeria look to close the gap on Group C leaders Bafana Bafana.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein.
