In a renewed push to deepen collaboration and enhance operational synergy among security agencies in Taraba State, the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) on Friday, 31 October 2025, led a Joint Route March involving personnel from multiple security formations across Jalingo metropolis.
The exercise brought together operatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Taraba Marshal, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society—showcasing a strong display of cooperation and collective readiness.
The march aimed to boost physical fitness, strengthen teamwork, and promote deeper mutual understanding among the various agencies operating within the state.
Addressing participants before the commencement of the march, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, emphasized that the activity forms part of the Army’s regular training schedule designed to maintain the mental and physical sharpness of troops.
He stated, “Today’s route march is not just about fitness. It is a demonstration of our strength, unity, and readiness to defend our nation at all times. It reminds us that discipline, teamwork, and endurance remain the hallmarks of our profession. As we step off, let us march with pride, purpose, and mutual respect, showing the people of Taraba and Nigeria that the security forces remain united, alert, and mission-ready.”
The exercise also served as a platform to reinforce esprit de corps among all participating agencies while reaffirming their shared commitment to sustaining peace and security in Taraba State and across Nigeria.
Covering major streets in Jalingo, the march drew applause from residents who commended the impressive show of unity and coordination among the security personnel.
Brigadier General Uwa further disclosed that the joint route march will become a monthly exercise—except when operational exigencies require otherwise.
