Argentina and Morocco are set to clash in the final of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup after the Albicelestes edged Colombia 1–0 in Thursday’s semi-final.
Mateo Silvetti’s 74th-minute strike sealed the victory for Argentina at the Estadio Nacional de Santiago, following a crucial red card that reduced Colombia to 10 men late in the game.
Gianluca Prestianni created space on the right flank and provided the perfect assist for Silvetti, who slotted home from close range to give Argentina the lead in a tense contest.
Despite Colombia’s late pressure, Argentina’s defence held firm to secure their eighth appearance in a U-20 World Cup final. The South American giants have won the competition a record six times.
They will face Morocco on Monday, October 20, as the Atlas Cubs make history by reaching their first-ever U-20 World Cup final — becoming only the third African nation, after Ghana and Nigeria, to do so.
