Occupying the left-back position at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday, March 14, the 26-year-old delivered a versatile performance that assisted the capital club in maintaining their pursuit of the league title. The victory significantly impacts the standings, reducing Barcelona’s lead to a single point ahead of their Sunday fixture against Sevilla.
Following the final whistle, Arbeloa singled out the former Rayo Vallecano man for his work ethic and readiness, despite a season characterized by limited starting opportunities. Since the summer arrival of Álvaro Carreras, García has largely served as a secondary option, featuring in 17 total matches this term with only seven starts. However, his statistical output against Elche—which included an assist, seven defensive interventions, and six passes into the final third—underscored his value to the squad.
