In its latest push to dominate the premium tech space, Apple has upgraded its flagship devices with the all-new M5 chip, promising faster performance, smarter AI, and a smoother user experience ahead of the holiday season.
The tech giant unveiled refreshed versions of the iPad Pro, Vision Pro, and entry-level MacBook Pro, all powered by the M5 processor. While the new models retain their familiar designs, Apple said the latest chip delivers significant improvements in computing speed, graphics rendering, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
According to the company, the M5 chip enhances multitasking and on-device AI functions, enabling smoother integration with Apple’s expanding suite of machine learning applications — from creative workflows to real-time translation and augmented reality experiences.
The new lineup also features incremental hardware updates. The iPad Pro now includes Apple’s in-house N1 wireless chip and C1X modem, boosting connectivity and energy efficiency. The Vision Pro headset comes with an upgraded headband for improved comfort, while the MacBook Pro retains its lightweight build and long battery life, now optimized for AI-based tasks and high-end creative performance.
Despite the upgrades, Apple is maintaining current pricing across the refreshed devices: the iPad Pro starts at $999, the MacBook Pro at $1,599, and the Vision Pro headset remains at $3,499.
The move rounds out Apple’s 2025 product lineup following last month’s launch of the iPhone 17, the iPhone Air, and updated AirPods and Apple Watch models. The company said the new M5-powered devices are available for preorder on its website starting Wednesday and will hit retail stores on October 22.
Apple also confirmed that the iPhone Air, which experienced shipping delays, will officially debut in China on the same date, signaling a coordinated global rollout ahead of the company’s most lucrative quarter of the year.
