All Progressives Congress has fixed Tuesday, March 24, for the screening of aspirants contesting for national offices ahead of its National Convention scheduled for later this week in Abuja.
According to a notice issued on Sunday, the screening exercise will take place at Transcorp Hilton Abuja, where aspirants seeking positions within the party’s national leadership are expected to undergo verification.
The notice, signed by Isa Yuguda, Secretary of the Aspirants’ Screening Committee and former governor of Bauchi State, stated that only aspirants who have completed the purchase and submission of their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will be eligible for screening.
Yuguda emphasized that all aspirants must appear in person and present relevant supporting documents for authentication during the exercise.
He also advised candidates to arrive early to ensure a smooth and timely process.
The screening comes as a key step ahead of the party’s National Convention, which is expected to hold from March 25 to March 28 and will conclude months of internal political activities across the country.
In December 2025, the APC released a comprehensive timetable for its 2025/2026 internal electoral process, covering ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses.
The process began with nationwide membership e-registration on December 1, 2025, and continued through January 30, 2026, followed by notices for congresses, sale and submission of nomination forms, screening exercises, and appeals at various levels.
With ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses already concluded, the party is now entering the final stage of its internal reorganisation through the upcoming national convention — a gathering expected to shape its leadership structure ahead of future political contests.
