The All Progressives Congress has dismissed Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s claim that President Bola Tinubu has been absent from office, insisting the president remains fully involved in running the country.
APC Lagos State spokesman, Seye Oladejo, said Tinubu continues to carry out his constitutional duties at home and abroad, overseeing policies, security, economic reforms, and diplomatic engagements. “Governance is measured by the decisions made and results delivered, not by media appearances”, he added.
Obi had raised concerns over Tinubu’s visibility, claiming the president spent 196 days abroad in 2025 and had not directly addressed Nigerians since December.
Tinubu recently traveled to Abu Dhabi to attend the 2026 Sustainability Week, following an invitation from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
The APC stressed that international engagements are part of presidential duties and urged political rivals to focus on constructive solutions rather than raising public alarm.
