The All Progressives Congress (APC) Grassroots Governance Group APC G3 has lauded Chief Bisi Akande for his contribution to the growth of a virile and enduring democracy in Nigeria.
The National Coordinator of the Group, Amechi Chuks Oyema in a Statement in Abuja, described Chief Akande as a towering example of principled leadership in Nigeria whose life reflects rare virtues of accountability, integrity, and steadfast dedication to democratic ideals—qualities that are urgently needed in our nation today.
Oyema, who spoke on the occasion of the 87th birthday of the APC Chieftain, noted that through his active role in the pro-democracy movement and his commitment to progressive politics, he consistently affirmed that democracy must be built on truth, discipline, and respect for the will of the people.
“As a founding pillar and the first National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), your leadership and moral authority were central to the successful unification of diverse political forces under a progressive banner. You helped shape a party founded on reform, internal democracy, and national purpose—values that continue to guide its vision.
“In a time when Nigeria seeks credible leadership, your unwavering standards of integrity and accountability stand as a guiding light. Your life teaches that public office is a trust, and that meaningful progress can only be achieved through honesty and responsibility.”
While celebrating this special milestone and legacy, the Group honored the wisdom of the leader, and thanked him for his invaluable service to Nigeria’s democratic journey.
“Your example endures, and Nigeria still needs your values more than ever,” the Statement concluded.
