A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Princewill Dike, has urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as Director-General of his 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
Dike, a Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner, made the call in Port Harcourt, expressing confidence that Wike possesses the political capacity to deliver Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
He said the former Rivers State governor had demonstrated strong political acumen and influence, which could be instrumental in mobilising support nationwide.
“I have hitherto asserted that should the political wonder boy of Rivers State, Wike, become the President’s re-election Presidential Campaign Council DG, his opponents would be in trouble,” Dike said.
He highlighted Wike’s extensive political network and ability to mobilise resources, noting that the minister could effectively coordinate campaign efforts across the country.
“He has a vast political network across the federation. He knows how to generate campaign funds without burdening the President and is capable of working tirelessly to achieve results,” he added.
Dike further claimed that Wike enjoys widespread support, particularly among youths, and has consistently demonstrated political strength in previous elections.
He cited Wike’s role in past electoral victories in Rivers State, including the 2023 general elections, where he delivered key wins despite political differences.
According to him, appointing Wike as PCC Director-General would strengthen Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 elections.
