Anthony Joshua survives car crash along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with reports of two casualties yet to be confirmed by the Police.
Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua survived a road traffic accident on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway on Monday, with reports indicating that 2 people died in the crash.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, said the accident occurred along the Shagamu Exchange axis of the expressway. He added that the Lagos State Government immediately dispatched an ambulance to the scene.
Images from the crash site showed a shirtless Joshua standing amid wreckage, surrounded by a crowd of sympathisers. He was seen without significant injuries.
According to Punch, eyewitnesses at the scene reported that “Two dead” resulted from the accident, while Joshua sustained only minor injuries.
The crash reportedly happened when a Lexus Jeep with plate number KRD 850 HN collided with a stationary truck on the route.
The incident occurred 9 days after Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in an exhibition heavyweight bout at the Kaseya Centre in Miami. Joshua has been in Nigeria on a yuletide holiday since the fight.
