Beninese music legend Angélique Kidjo has revealed plans to release her highly anticipated album, ‘Hope’, on April 24, 2026.
The 14-track album is a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Yvonne, who passed away five years ago. Kidjo explained that the album embodies the message of hope and perseverance her mother instilled in her.
In an Instagram post, the five-time Grammy-winning singer shared:
“She is the one who taught me that every dream I had could be accomplished, that HOPE for a better future is what makes us human. She left us 5 years ago, but her message resonates to this very day.”
The project features collaborations with a mix of African and international stars, including Davido, Ayra Starr, The Cavemen, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Quavo, Shizzi, Pagny, Dadju, Fally Ipupa, Charlie Wilson, Iza, PJ Morton, Diamond Platnumz, Soweto Gospel Choir, Shungudzo, and Diane Warren.
Kidjo described the album as a labour of love that has been five years in the making, showcasing her dedication to crafting a message that resonates across cultures.
