Anaconda 2025 is the seventh installment in the series, and also a reboot of sorts.
Unlike the previous films, which are horror, this one is an action comedy about two best friends who, compelled by a midlife crisis, attempt to remake their favourite movie (the original Anaconda), a mission that requires them to journey to the Amazon.
Things go wrong when a giant anaconda appears. Audiences liked it (76 per cent). Critics were less impressed (52 per cent), criticizing the lowbrow humour and thin plot. You can watch Anaconda 2025 in cinemas today.
