Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim, has assured supporters that there is no cause for alarm regarding Bruno Fernandes’ fitness, maintaining that “everything is fine” with the midfielder.
His clarification comes amid concerns that Fernandes might have sustained an injury late in United’s 2-1 comeback victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday. The match had initially tilted in Palace’s favour, with Jean-Philippe Mateta converting a first-half penalty to put the home side ahead.
However, Manchester United responded strongly in the second half, overturning the deficit through goals by Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount. Fernandes played a crucial role in both goals, providing the assists that helped secure all three points for the visitors.
Late in the encounter, the Portuguese international went down following a forceful kick, prompting anxiety among fans—especially with the team’s next fixture against West Ham on the horizon. Observers also noted Fernandes’ extended discussion with members of the coaching staff after the incident, adding to the speculation.
Addressing reporters after the match, Amorim dismissed any injury worries and explained the situation.
“It was a kick.
“I was shouting at him, we made a substitution in the end.
“He needed to talk to the bench but he said it was just a kick so everything is okay.”
The manager’s statement indicates that Fernandes is expected to remain available as United continue their Premier League campaign.
