The brother of late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola has publicly apologised to actress Iyabo Ojo following an earlier accusation that she failed to support his sister while she was alive.
The apology took place during a memorial service held in honour of the late actress, where Allwell Ademola’s brother approached Iyabo Ojo and pleaded for forgiveness over the remarks he had previously made.
In a video from the event, he expressed remorse, stressing that his earlier outburst was not intended as an insult. “Big mummy, please don’t be offended. You can see that I didn’t abuse you in the viral video. I’m truly sorry,” he said.
Iyabo Ojo accepted the apology without hesitation. As he prostrated in a traditional gesture of remorse, the actress moved to embrace him, assuring him that the issue had been put to rest. “O ti lo, it’s in the past. To God, I have forgiven you,” she said.
The reconciliation follows a brief public dispute that began when Allwell Ademola’s brother accused Iyabo Ojo and other celebrities of abandoning the actress during her lifetime. The claim sparked reactions online and within the Nollywood community.
In response to the allegation at the time, Iyabo Ojo had stated that she supported Allwell Ademola by casting her in several of her movie projects without payment, countering the narrative that she had been absent.
The moment of reconciliation at the memorial service was widely praised by observers, with many describing it as a show of maturity and compassion amid a period of mourning for the late actress.
