The Allianz Arena in Munich has been officially confirmed as the venue for the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, UEFA announced on Friday.
The decision sets up a battle between London’s Wembley Stadium and Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou to host the 2029 final, with UEFA stating that the final decision will depend on the proposals submitted by June 10, 2026.
UEFA also clarified that the possibility of hosting the Champions League final in New York remains under consideration, but such a move would not take place before 2030.
“The declarations of interest are not binding, and the final proposals must be delivered with the bid dossiers by June 10,” UEFA said in an official statement.
The Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich, previously hosted the final last season, while Wembley Stadium staged the 2024 edition. The Camp Nou last hosted the competition’s showpiece event in 1999, when Manchester United produced a dramatic stoppage-time comeback to defeat Bayern Munich 2–1.
This season’s Champions League final will take place at the Puskás Arena in Budapest.
