Authorities have launched an investigation into allegations of child abuse at a daycare facility in Lagos State, following online discussions that referenced resurfaced social media posts linked to Simi.
In a statement issued on Friday, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) said its Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, directed operatives to commence a full-scale inquiry after reports circulating online suggested possible misconduct in a daycare setting.
The agency said: “Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, OON, has directed Operatives of the Agency to commence a full-scale investigation into the alleged Child Molestation and Abuse in a Day-care setting in Lagos, as deduced from the suggestive online post by a popular Nigerian singer”.
NAPTIP added that its communication platforms remain active and available to receive complaints from anyone who may have been abused or violated at the facility, stressing that child protection remains its foremost priority.
The development follows similar action by the Lagos State Government, which has also initiated preliminary steps to examine the matter. Authorities say investigations are ongoing.
