Akwa United manager Paul Offor has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of their matchday two fixture against Abakaliki FC.
The Promise Keepers will host the 2025 President Federation Cup finalists on Sunday at the Uyo Township Stadium.
Offor explained that his squad has quickly moved on from last weekend’s victory and is fully focused on the next challenge.
“Our win last weekend is now behind us. We’ve shifted our focus completely to Sunday’s match, and the players are responding well,” Offor told the club’s media.
According to him, the atmosphere in camp has been encouraging, with players showing strong commitment and pushing hard for selection.
“The atmosphere in camp is positive, the boys are in good shape, and everyone is eager to make the matchday squad. I’m impressed with the healthy competition within the group,” he noted.
The coach, who continues to build momentum in the new season, added that the objective is to secure victory and strengthen their campaign.
“At the moment, Abakaliki FC is our main focus. We don’t want to take anything for granted because a win on Sunday will give us the needed push for the rest of the season. We are preparing thoroughly because it’s a very important game for us,” he said.
