Paul Offor has reiterated Akwa United’s commitment to their promotion ambitions following a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Godswill Akpabio FC in their recent derby encounter.
The Promise Keepers have made a steady start to the campaign, recording two wins, one draw and one loss from their opening four matches. As a result, Akwa United currently sit fourth in Group B with seven points, keeping them firmly in contention for a playoff spot.
With only two teams set to qualify for the promotion playoffs at the end of the season, Offor remains optimistic about his team’s chances and believes they are still on track to achieve their objective.
“We are still on course for our target, which is promotion,” Offor stated to Akwa United media.
“I’m confident we will bounce back strongly in the remaining fourteen games.”
The draw has not dampened the club’s resolve, as the coaching crew and players look ahead to the next round of fixtures with renewed focus and determination.
