Sunshine Stars have officially appointed Bobby Akinfolarin as the new head coach of the Nigeria National League (NNL) club, confirming the development on Thursday. The announcement marks a significant career milestone for the emerging tactician, who put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Owena Waves.
Akinfolarin, who brings a wealth of experience from years of serving as an assistant coach, expressed his delight after being entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Akure-based side. “I felt so excited, Though, the task ahead is huge,” Akinfolarin told newsmen.
Before his latest elevation, Akinfolarin worked under several notable Nigerian coaches, including Bala Abubakar, Kennedy Boboye and Kayode Olujoungbe. His previous roles across different technical setups are expected to help him steer Sunshine Stars toward a stronger campaign in the upcoming NNL season.
