The General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, has issued a public apology following the violent scenes that marred their NPFL clash with Shooting Stars Sports Club on Sunday.
In a statement released late Sunday, the former Super Eagles captain described the incident as heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable, stressing that it does not reflect the club’s values or proud history.
“Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for,” Musa stated.
He extended an unreserved apology to Shooting Stars’ players, coaches, fans, match officials, and league organisers, assuring that the club will fully cooperate with authorities to identify and sanction those involved.
“We understand that apologies alone are not enough. Words must be followed by action, and we will take steps to ensure this never happens again,” Musa added.
