The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Abubakar Sanusi Yakubu, has thrown his weight behind the forthcoming UK–Nigeria Creative Roundtable and Awards, describing it as a platform for meaningful global engagement.
Yakubu confirmed he will be in London to participate in the international gathering, where he plans to interact with key stakeholders across the creative industry and explore partnerships that can elevate Nigerian talent on the global stage.
According to him, the event, organised in collaboration with Elegant Flix 3D Magazine, aligns with the theme “Global Partnerships for Sustainable Cultural Heritage and Integrity,” which reflects the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 17 focused on partnerships.
Yakubu expressed optimism about the outcome of the engagement, noting that it presents an opportunity to strengthen cultural exchange and promote Nigeria’s creative sector internationally.
The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 26, in London, running from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and is expected to become an annual fixture.
Several prominent figures are billed to attend, including Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, alongside industry stakeholders such as Desmond Elliot and Chioma Akpotha, who will serve as host.
Other expected participants include creative industry leaders, policymakers, and international speakers who will contribute to discussions on cultural preservation and cross-border collaboration.
Meanwhile, Air Peace has been confirmed as the official sponsor of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, further underscoring corporate support for the sector’s growth.
