Nigerian music continues its global ascent as top Afrobeats stars roll out an ambitious lineup of international performances in 2026, underscoring the genre’s growing dominance across major stages worldwide.
Leading the charge is Tems, who is set to co-headline the opening night of the All Points East alongside British singer Jorja Smith. The concert, scheduled for August 21 at Victoria Park, places Afrobeats and R&B at the centre of one of the UK’s biggest summer festivals.
The event, curated by Smith and her label FAMM, will also feature rising Nigerian star Ayra Starr, highlighting the increasing global appetite for African music.
For Tems, the performance adds to a string of international achievements following the success of her debut album Born in the Wild and her Grammy-winning hit “Love Me Jeje.”
Earlier in August, Davido will headline the “Davido & Friends” concert at the Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14. The historic venue has previously hosted global icons, reinforcing the scale of the event.
The concert marks Davido’s return to the UK after his headline show at the O2 Arena two years ago.
Meanwhile, Wizkid is set to headline Afro Nation, widely regarded as the world’s largest Afrobeats festival. The Portugal edition will take place from July 3 to 5 at Praia da Rocha, with a lineup that includes international acts like Gunna, Asake and Tyla.
Emerging talents are also making strategic moves to expand their global reach. Nigerian pop artist Fola is preparing for his first Canadian tour, “Catharsis Live Tour,” in July. Ahead of that, he is scheduled to perform in London, Birmingham and Dublin as part of efforts to introduce his music to North American audiences.
Street-pop star Zlatan is also gearing up for a multi-city UK tour between June and July. The tour will cover major cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin, featuring a live band and aimed at strengthening his connection with fans in the diaspora.
In addition, Afrobeats act Young Jonn is scheduled to headline the OVO Arena Wembley on September 25, further cementing the presence of Nigerian artists on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.
This surge in global touring reflects a defining moment for Afrobeats, as Nigerian artists continue to break boundaries, attract diverse audiences, and solidify their influence in the international music scene.
