Nigerian Afrobeats artists Pheelz and Khaid have revealed that their sport utility vehicle (SUV) was allegedly broken into during a visit to Los Angeles, California, resulting in the loss of several valuables.
The musicians disclosed the incident on social media, saying thieves made away with important items, including laptops, a passport belonging to Khaid, and a hard drive containing some of the singer’s music.
Khaid shared his frustration on Instagram, explaining that the stolen items included crucial travel documents and creative materials.
“Just fcking got robbed in Cali, my passport to travel, my laptop, my fcking harddrive. All my f*cking songs,” he wrote while reacting to the incident.
The loss of the hard drive is particularly concerning, as it reportedly contained unreleased music files.
Pheelz also addressed the incident online, describing it as a shocking experience. Despite the ordeal, the producer and singer expressed gratitude that no one was harmed.
“Craziest night last night. LA you do this one. Thank God for life,” he wrote.
He further shared his surprise at how the situation was handled after they contacted authorities.
According to Pheelz, he expected a quicker response from the police but was instead instructed to complete a report online.
“I thought it was going to be like the movies where you call the police and they pull up almost immediately. Omo we called o, they say make we fill form online,” he added.
The artists have not provided further updates on whether the stolen items have been recovered.
