A fresh voice is emerging on Nigeria’s music scene as Afro-Soul artist Ureny (real name Omoluyi Irene Joseph) makes his official debut with the single “Melody” under NeverStop Records International.
Born on December 30, 2006, in Rivers State and originally from Edo State, Ureny began his musical journey at just seven years old. Now at 18, he steps into the spotlight with a sound he describes as deeply emotional, soulful, and rooted in storytelling.
Speaking on his debut, Ureny shared that “Melody is a piece of my soul. It’s about expressing emotions that words alone can’t carry. That’s what I want my music to be; a voice for feelings we all share.”
With a smooth and expressive vocal style, Ureny transforms his introverted personality into music that connects with shared human experiences. His artistry is not just about entertainment but about capturing raw emotion and the rhythm of life across Africa.
“Melody” serves as a powerful introduction to his Afro-Soul style — one that blends timeless introspection with heartfelt delivery. Backed by NeverStop Records, Ureny is already preparing his debut EP titled “An Intention,” which he promises will showcase his range and unique artistic voice.
As 2025 unfolds, Ureny is positioning himself as one of the most promising new acts to watch on Nigeria’s Afro-Soul landscape.
