Following the successful hosting of its ninth edition in Lagos, preparations for the landmark 10th All Africa Music Awards have gathered momentum across the continent.
The International Committee of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), in collaboration with the African Union Commission, has begun a strategic tour of major African cities to deepen industry engagement ahead of the milestone ceremony.
The campaign train recently stopped in Dar es Salaam, where a Media and Stakeholders’ Parley brought together award winners, creatives, executives and government representatives. Among those present were Tanzanian artistes Juma Jux and Folex, who joined discussions on the awards’ continental impact and the need for stronger cross-border collaboration.
Attention now shifts to Abidjan, where another high-level parley is scheduled for February 17, 2026. The event is expected to attract leading artistes, regulators, music executives and cultural stakeholders from Francophone West Africa and beyond.
Among the confirmed participants are Côte d’Ivoire’s 9th AFRIMA winners, including Didi B, recipient of Best African Lyricist/Rapper; Milo, who won Best Male African Inspirational Music; Team Paiya, awarded Best African Duo, Group or Band; and Morijah, named Best Female African Inspirational Music. Algerian DJ DJ Moh Green, winner of the Best African DJ category, is also expected to attend.
Participants are set to share insights on AFRIMA’s role in amplifying African culture and fostering industry growth. Discussions will also highlight the awards’ selection process, which organisers describe as transparent and multi-layered, beginning with entry submissions, followed by nomination by a 13-member International Jury and concluding with voting by the Academy of Voters and fans.
Guy Neza, an Ivorian member of the AFRIMA International Jury, said the Abidjan engagement forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen partnerships with government institutions and industry leaders across the Francophone region. He added that the initiative aims to further position AFRIMA as a globally competitive awards platform rooted in African identity.
As the build-up to the 10th edition continues, organisers say the continental outreach underscores AFRIMA’s ambition to consolidate its influence and expand its cultural footprint worldwide.
